Tongue & Grove
Varieties
The tongue & groove products we make for accent walls & ceilings are precision milled to 1/2 inch thick. All except bead board come in four widths and can be mixed with one another if desired.
Brown & Grey Mix
Our Brown & Grey Mix tongue & groove product our most popular seller. It is a blend of reclaimed wood species with different surface colors and textures.
We set the planer blades to skim the top, exposing some of the rich, aged patina below, while leaving some saw markings and other character on the surface. It’s likely you’ll see nail holes, evidence of former insect activity, surface blemishes, and other forms of natural and man-made character.
Our customers often purchase small amounts of our other T&G materials to mix with this. For example: 75% brown & grey, 15% white and 10% red.
Specifications:
- Kiln dried (heat treated)
- Thickness 1/2”
- Tongue & Groove
- Widths – 2 1/4”, 3”, 4”, 5”
- Lengths from 8 inch to 6 feet
Center Cut

Barn Red
We make our Barn Red accent material from actual Midwestern barn siding. Red is a common barn color in our region. We set the planer blades to skim the top, removing some of the original paint and exposing the rich, aged patina below. Some of the boards in the mix may have lost their paint while still on the barn, and may have turned grey. The result may therefore include reds, browns and greys in your batch. It’s likely you’ll also see nail holes and other forms of natural and man-made character.
Note: some vintage paints may contain lead additives. We recommend encapsulating the painted surface of this product using a clear varnish or other sealer

Skip Planed White
We make our Skip Planed White tongue & groove material by painting our vintage wood with new off-white paint prior to milling it. Then we set the planer blades to skim the top, removing some of the paint and exposing the rich, aged patina below. It’s likely you’ll also see nail holes and other forms of natural and man-made character

Mixed Color
Here’s where you can get really creative! Many of our customers prefer a mix of the various types of our wall & ceiling materials. For example, one might order 75% Brown & Grey Mix, 15% Skip Planed White, and 10% Barn Red, then mix the three together when installing. We also have a variety of colorful paints on hand and occasionally produce a Mixed Color batch to add to our inventory. For orders over 100 square feet, you can even provide your own custom colored paint for us to put through our production process. (Notice the photo of the red, white, and blue American Flag below. We produced these materials for the American Legion in West Salem, Wisconsin.)

It is typically produced in skip planed off-white, 1/2” thick with tongue & groove, but we can also produce it in 3/4” thick with straight or rounded edges to be used as trim.
